Windows Live Plugin - I am away
Windows Live Plugin, I am away, is the plugin/add-in for the Windows Live
Messenger which will let your contacts know that you are not available at this time
and that they should contact you later when you are available. You can write your
custom message to be sent to you contacts when you are away.
This plugin will not send any message when you are interacting with your contacts, however, when your
status is anything else than Online or Appear Offline, it will be active. So, when someone send you a message
on Windows Live Messenger, it will automatically response him with your configured response message, for example,
"Sorry, I am not available this time. I will catch you as soon as I come back".
Windows Live Plugin requires the following on your system.
- Windows Live Messenger 8 or above
- Microsoft .NET Framework version 2.0
Download the plugin from the download link. Close your Windows Live Messenger and execute the setup.
Once setup is completed, start the Windows Live Messenger and sign in. Once sign in is completed, go to
Tools menu and click on Options and then from the left menu, click on add-ins and you should see something
You should select the I am away from the drop down list of Add-in and then check the checbox "Automatically turn on
this add-in when my status is anything other than Online or Appear Offline". This will automatically turn on this add-in
when you are away from your system.

I want to always activate this add-in even my status is Online
Windows Live Messenger usually turn off add-in always until you check the "Automatically turn on
this add-in when my status is anything other than Online or Appear Offline" from options menu. But if you manually want to
activate add-in at any time, you can do this by clicking on your status on the top of main screen of Windows Live Messenger, and then click
Turn on "I am away". See the snapshot below.
Whenever the "Turn on I am away" is is checked, it will automatically send message to your contacts.
I can't see I am away Plugin in Add-ins drop down.
If I am away Add-in is not in the add-in list, then it must not be registered properly and you will have to register than
manually. Its simple. From the Options dialog, click on Add-ins tab and click on "Add to Messenger" button. Browse for
C:\Program Files\DevelopersINN\Windows Live Messenger Addon - I am Away\WLAddInIAmAway.AddIn.dll. Now you should see it in the list.
